It all happened so unexpectedly when I received a call from the Sabah Tourism Board.
I had the greatest joy when I found out that I had been chosen to be the official MUA for Liz Davenport's shoot in Sabah!
It was a mix of emotions : One- being a sense of achievement for being the chosen one to showcase my talents. While the other - a sense of anxiety since I would be dealing with my first ever International client ( and a fashionably noted one at that! )
So before meeting with the famed designer, I had a little time to do some homework and see what I was getting myself into.
Here's what I found out on her site : http://www.lizdavenport.com.au

The colourful threads that weave the fabric of a fashionable 30 years.
Liz Davenport has been a leading Australian fashion designer, manufacturer and retailer for more than 35 years. One of only five Australian designers to receive the highest fashion accolade - a Grand Award from the Fashion Industries of Australia, Liz Davenport also has an Advance Australia Award for ‘contribution to lifestyle through fashion’ and is the current winner of the Sydney Business Award for ‘outstanding women’s wear’.
O-M-G!
Words could not have expressed the thoughts that ran through my mind. Immediately I knew I had to step up my game in order to live up to their standards. What ever it was, I had to be very flexible in my work and to absorb as much as I could regarding how they ( the International scene ) manage their fashion shoots!
After meeting up with Liz, she assured me to take everything in stride and that it would be an adventure.
There is always trial & error and I quote her words of wisdom : " Whatever mistakes done, it can always be removed and redone - after all it's only makeup!" With that being said, I managed to ease a little. However, my anxious nerves wouldn't allow me until I finally had the chance to put my skill to the test the next day.

Putting on make up on one of the models @ 6am.

Elise with her first makeup for the shoot. The photographer wanted an avant garde finish to the make up.

After some makeup - absolutely gorgeous!

Soon after we headed to our shoot location for the day.
They wanted to capture the local culture in its splendour, so what better place than the Sabah State Museum?
